Library visits

Thank you Redwater! What a wonderful evening last night! Thank you to the Municipal Library for inviting me and to ALL the people who attended. I even met a lady who knew my Mom and Dad! She said I 'looked' like my Dad, and 'sounded' like my Mom! That comment alone was well worth the trip.

EVERY library visit I've had has been remarkable. People are SO kind, and these days there's a great deal of laughter.

Last night, the Mayor of Redwater was there, as were members of council. There's always someone from the local paper, and then there's always people just like 'you and me.'

After I read from my book, people often comment that they're taken aback by my honesty. Being 'honest' about what happened was the easy part, especially when I learned 'I had nothing to hide'.

It was the 'recovery' that was a nightmare.

My next Library outing is Thursday night in Breton; I'll be there between 7-9.

Everything, EVERYTHING about this book project has made me happy. Today, I'm off to the printers to pick up more copies. Oh, and I'm even getting more 'speaking' requests!

One of my favourite library comments to date? It was at a very small library. There was an elderly woman with very dark black hair leaning up against a radiator. I couldn't help but notice her. She never said a word all evening until she was leaving. She came up to the table where I was signing books and in a heavy accent said 'I would have fed him cat s---'.

I laughed so hard, I nearly fell off the chair.

I probably shouldn't have shared that, as it's not particularly kind, however it is very.......cute.
