Talking about me

Another pleasant surprise!

Received another e-mail yesterday from Chapters. This time it was from the one in Sherwood Park. The manager there wrote 'we need more stock!' It means I'll be heading out to Sherwood Park this afternoon to drop off more books. I'm down to a box and a half of inventory, so it suffices to say I'm very pleased.

The hi-lite of my day will undoubtedly be 'lunch' with my best guy friend, Danny Hooper. When we set it up the other day, he said 'Sister, we're going to have to talk about you. We've talked too much about me lately'. You have NO idea how great that made me feel. Not that he wanted to talk about me----the fact that we haven't NEEDED to talk about 'me!'

These days, I'm only too happy to hear about the adventures of others and rest assured, Danny has.......adventures and then some! 😜

When my life first imploded, Danny was among those in my inner circle who witnessed the worst of my grief. He regularly offered me 'African Honey Nectar' tea when he knew I was alone in my condo. (that's because 'Red Rose' just isn't exciting enough for him) He called regularly and assured me that what happened was in my best interest, that it was in fact the 'hand of God' protecting me from certain calamity down the road. Danny is compassionate, loyal, funny and smart.

Yes, I know how lucky I am to have him as a friend. The other day as I was advising him on something, he told me that I should become a 'life coach'. He felt that with my experience, I could truly help others. Naturally he'd want a commission. He said it would be.......wait for it.......5 bucks.
