Homeward bound!
I am SOOOOOOO excited to be going home!
Good afternoon from the airport in New Orleans! We're all checked in and are now waiting for our first flight home.
The fact that I'm excited to go home is SUCH a good sign. As I mentioned last night, I love Edmonton. I love my home on Jasper Avenue overlooking the River Valley. I can't wait to read tomorrow's Edmonton Journal. I look forward to heading to Safeway tomorrow for groceries. I've eaten VERY well down here, but I'm ready for home cooking. I'm anxious to touch base with my friends and family. I'm told the stores are full of Christmas decorations! I believe I heard about a Craft Fair at the Old Timer's Cabin this weekend. I'll be off to the post office Wednesday to mail out book orders. I'm excited about turning on my fireplace because of the crisper weather. I'm also going to look at my calendar and book some dinner dates for friends I'd like to have over during December.......and I 'am' going to decorate my home for the holidays! I also want to find a pretty new table cloth for my dining room in advance of my Christmas dinner parties.
My 'to do' list is very simple, but it features things I love to do. It's who 'I am', and as I rebuild my life I find it comforting to know that so many of the things that give me pleasure are 'simple'. I believe it's that way for most of us.
I've had a wonderful 'play date' with Karen Maluta of Around the World Travel, one of my besties Tiffany Dowhan and ALL of the people on our New Orleans trip. In fact, I expect to see many of them again. I am ready to go home though, and that feeling is wonderful. It confirms that I DO have a good life, I AM recovering and today........I FEEL peace. It wasn't that long ago when I couldn't have 'purchased peace' for any price.
Have a great Tuesday Friends!
