My new view

What a glorious Sunday morning!

This is my view from my home. I think it's very pretty, and it's by far the best view I've ever had in my life.

I'm not sure I need a view in order to be inspired when I'm preparing a speech, as that always comes from within. The speech I give today is much different than the one I gave even a few months ago. Instead of focusing on the 'pain' of what happened in my life, I now talk about how fortunate I am. I'm lucky I get another chance to do it right; I'm lucky that I get to push the 'reset button' in my life.

Obviously, I wish that I had made other choices earlier on. I wish that I would have done a better job of vetting, that I would have met a really good man, and that I was enjoying breakfast and the Sunday paper with him this morning.

That didn't happen though, and so I've had to push the 'reset button'.

The thing is, just about everyone gets a reset button at some point in life. A job loss, the death of a loved one, a move, divorce, an illness. There's a gazillion different things that can force one into the 'reset mode'.

Of course it's hard. Of course it can be painful. Of course it wasn't part of the plan. It is however a part of life.

As I look at my own journey, the reality is I learn something new almost EVERY day. For example, yesterday I realized that my 'book project' is so fulfilling, it's allowing me to not make much of an effort 'socializing'. Socializing has always been hard for me. God only knows I can do it, and once I'm out, I quite love it, it's just that 'getting out' can be really hard! That means I've got to make more of an effort to 'get out' to meet new people.

After everything I've been through......I can do it.

Have a marvellous Sunday everyone, and thank you New Sarepta for a wonderful welcome Saturday!!!!
