Fearlessly honest

Where does one start, when you can write a book about your weekend?

I had 3 book signings and then the K-97/ CJCA reunion this past weekend. I learned a 'great deal' at all 3 book events. Among other things, I was reminded 'gratitude' is one of the keys to happiness. I often forget that when I'm sad. While I'm not ready to get a 'gratitude' tattoo, I am going to find a piece of jewellery or something I can wear that will remind me of how critical 'gratitude' is to my recovery.

I was very flattered when one of the readers I visited with said I was 'fearlessly honest'. I really never thought of it that way. I know 'why' though I can be so transparent. You see, I have 'two skins'; my public one and my private one. My private skin is ultra sensitive. My public skin? Not so much! It's been toughened by nearly 35 years in broadcasting. I explained to the lady visiting me, that in those 35 years, there isn't much that hasn't been said to me. Like any public person, I received my fair share of hate mail and verbal abuse. For the record, some of it was likely deserved. In my younger days, I was a little 'brassy' at times.

Prior to my 'life implosion' I was only too excited to share all the fun, exciting details of my life. It wouldn't have been very honest if I didn't also tell you about the 'darkness'. I also believe I have nothing to hide. It took a LONG time, but I can finally say I know now that 'I' did nothing wrong.

After my book signings, I popped by the radio reunion. It was wonderful. Not only did I reconnect with many of my former colleagues, I expect to see some of them on a much more regular basis! It was just last week I told you I needed to create more 'fun' in my life. I have a pretty good idea now, of where I can start doing that!
